People in India and around the world are marking the seventh International Day of Yoga. With the fast-paced lifestyle and high-stress levels, yoga has become a very important part for many individuals to maintain good emotional and physical health.
Much scientific research has proven that yoga can help reduce stress levels, increase awareness, build immunity, and strong physical and mental health along with helping regularize the systems of the body overall.
It has become helpful for Covid patients too in their path to recovery and during the post-Covid period also. Those practicing yoga for a long time have been saying that either they were not Covid infected or come out without much complication after being tested positive.
Secretary of Yoga Association of Chittoor District (YACD) S Sreenivasulu Naidu said that the benefits of yoga have been realized by many people with increasing awareness over the years and they have been experiencing the fruits of it.
“I have been training the Covid patients on yoga sanas at Sri Padmavathi Nilayam Covid Care Centre where it has become a daily routine during the first wave as well as in the second wave. So far thousands of patients have practiced yoga there itself and gave positive feedback that it has immensely helped them in the recovery process,” he explained.
Though Yoga plays a vital role in pre-Covide, during Covid and post Covid, celebrations have been scaled down this year due to the pandemic. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also avoided a mass session and instead chose to address the nation virtually to mark the occasion.
