Bangladesh has started giving Covid-19 vaccination to the refugee Rohinga people staying in Cox’s Bazar camps last week.
The first phase of vaccination includes 48000 thousand individuals which will take one week to finish the job.
According to the Bangladesh government, over 1 million Rohingya are currently living in Bangladesh and at a certain period, they wish to vaccinate all of them.
In May 2020, Bangladesh first brought over 300 Rohingya refugees rescued at sea to Bhasan Char.
Although the government initially said they were being quarantined on the island to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the camps, they have yet to be reunited with their families.
