Heavy Rain Brings Relief in Australia

Devastating bushfire in Australia may be comes to an end as heavy rain, flash floods and severe thunderstorms have swept over Melbourne.
Rain is forecast to hit bushfire-affected parts of New South Wales and Victoria later this week which means citizens of Australia can see the end of tragic bushfire.
On Wednesday, 44mm of rain fell at Avalon in just 30 minutes and the wind gusts reached 110km/h which is heading towards North.
At St Albans, 54mm rain fell in 30 minutes between 4.15pm and 4.45pm as the bureau of meteorology updated its forecast to include the possibility of giant hail.
The bureau also forecasted that up to 10 mm rain will fall over the active bushfire zone in NSW and Victoria during the end of the week.
In a twitter post from Bureau of Meteorology, Victoria wrote, “This rainfall loop shows the “hit and miss” nature of thunderstorms: Avalon recorded 46mm in 30 mins, but Sheoaks, not 35km away, has recorded nothing!”
Up to 50mm of rain could fall across the NSW south coast from Wednesday to Saturday, and up to 25mm in the Snowy Valley and northern Victoria, where cross-border fires continue to burn through hundreds of thousands of hectares.
The NSW Rural Fire Service described in a statement, “If this @BOM_NSW rainfall forecast comes to fruition then this will be all of our Christmas, birthday, engagement, anniversary, wedding and graduation presents rolled into one. Fingers crossed.”
Bureau meteorologist Sarah Scully said the rain was “a bit of a double-edged sword”.
“Heavy rainfall and gusty thunderstorms bring the potential for flash flooding, particularly in the burnt-out areas of NSW and Victoria which are now vulnerable to landslips and trees coming down,” she added.
The bureau also issued few thunderstorm warnings for Western Australia and Queensland.
