Halsey Announces New Black Creators Fund

American musician and activist Halsey has launched a new initiative to give more support to Black creators. Dipto Paul Reports.

Halsey created the fund in a show of support to the Black Lives Matter movement.

In a statement on Instagram Halsey said: “We are launching a fund to help black creators and amplify their art, voice and perspective.”

“This ongoing initiative will be entirely funded by the Halsey team. If you’re an artist, poet, graphic designer, writer, filmmaker, music producer, journalist, makeup artist, or creator of any kind, we want to see your work and to help achieve your goals,” added she.

From the very beginning of the BLM movement, Hasley has been seen very supportive and recently she has been seen joining at a march in Los Angeles.

The singer further added: “I am launching this to give funds, resources, and a platform to black creators. Looking for black creators who want to enrich the world with their work. Use #BLACKCREATORSFUND & tag your favorite black creators in the comments.”

The first round of recipients of her Black Creators Funding Initiative will be announced on June 18th, but the initiative will continue “throughout the years to come.”
