‘Gremlins’ TV Series Will Feature Cameos From Original Movie

The animated TV series, ‘Gremlins: Secrets of the mogwai’ is set to be released on HBO Max next year. The production team has revealed that the series will feature a number of cameos from the original 1984 movie. Anika Khan reports.

The original story revolves around a young man, Bill, who receive a peculiar creature called a ‘mogwai’ as a gift. Watch the trailer of the original movie below:

The new TV series is set to be a prequel of the original movie, focusing on the early days of the ‘mogwai’ named Gizmo. It will take the fans back to 1920s China where we will see Sam and Gizmo on their perilous adventure battling monsters from Chinese folklore. On their way to return Gizmo to his family, the duo will uncover legendary treasures and defeat an army of evil gremlins.

The series producer Tze Chu has asked the fans to expect Easter eggs and references of gremlin’s mythologies in the upcoming series. He also said: “There are definitely going to be some exciting cameos from people”.

The producer has promised to provide the 40-year-old fandom with an animated adaptation true to the essence of its original concept.
