Atlanta rapper Future has announced that he will be providing scholarships to fresher students who have been affected by coronavirus pandemic. Puza Snigdha reports.
The rapper is taking a big step forward to help the students who are heading to college this fall, as many summer jobs have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, causing many students to face added financial pressure.
The rapper will arrange the “I’m Still a Dreamer” scholarship through his FreeWishes Foundation. The FreeWishes foundation was created by Future alongside his mother Stephanie Jester.
“You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect background to reach for your dreams,” said Future in a statement. He also added: “Despite this COVID-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to continue to dream big.”
Rules of applying for the scholarship-
- The high school graduates must need to submit a personal video describing how the pandemic is affecting their education and life.
- Applicants must have a minimum 3.00 grade point average.
- Need to be a resident in the state of Georgia
- The maximum scholarship award is $2,500.
- The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college for fall 2020.

The deadline to apply by is 27 July, and the winners will be announced on 4 August.
