The former first minister Alex Salmond has been accused of sexual misconduct.
Previously a Scottish National party leader, Alex has denied the claims and is taking government action regarding the allegations, which were said to have taken place during his tenure as first minister of Scotland.
The news comes following reports of complaints from 2 Scottish government staffers. The accusations relate to incidents said to have taken place in 2013, and the statements have been passed on to the police.
Salmond has since argued that he hasn’t had an opportunity to properly protest the allegations presented against him.
The 63-year-old used social media to share his thoughts, writing on Twitter that some of the allegations are “patently ridiculous”.
He penned: “The permanent secretary chose to deny me contact with any current civil servant, many of whom wished to give evidence on my behalf and access to documentation to allow me to properly challenge the complaints, all of which I refute.”
The SNP leader resigned from his position in 2014 in a move that saw him be replaced by Nicola Sturgeon. He had served as an authority figure since 2007 and is now taking Scottish government to court over the complaints made against him.
