Foo Fighters Welcome Joe Biden at Inauguration

Foo Fighters performed remotely at the presidential inauguration of Joe Biden on 20th January to welcome the president. Puza Snigdha reports.

Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters 2002 performance “Times Like These” hit the President Joe Biden’s Inauguration. The performance was dedicated to the “unshakeable teachers”. Dave Grohl also dedicated the performance to his own mother, Virginia.

“This year our teachers were faced with unprecedented challenges, but through dedication and creativity, they faced those challenges head on,” said Foo Fighters front man.

Grohl then paid special tribute to Washington kindergarten teacher Mackenzie Adams who has been sharing educational videos throughout lockdown.

The special event is a part of “Celebrating America” also showcased performances from Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Demi Lovatoand Lady Gaga. Actor Tom Hanks hosted the program.

The show incudes special guest including Alex Skolnick, Ra Diaz, Carla Harvey, Scott Ian, Jon Donais, Mark Menghi, William DuVall, Danko Jones & more.

The celebration wasn’t just a celebration of victory of the new president but also an opportunity to broadcast a message of unity and hope. Foo Fighters song ‘Times Like These’ is the perfect choice for that reason.

The event also saw the band’s new album song including, “Waiting on a War,” “No Son of Mine” and “Shame Shame”. The band’s 10th studio album Medicine at Midnight is set to come out on 5th Feb.
