Night in Paradise ****

Written and directed by Park Hoon-Jung, Night in Paradise is a 2020 South Korean crime film. The movie stars Uhm Tae-goo, Jeon Yeo-been, and Cha Seung-won. The movie revolves around an assassin named Tae-goo who is offered a chance to switch sides with his rival team, the Bukseong gang. After Tae-goo rejects the offer, the Bukseong gang murders his sister and niece. Tae-goo now seeks revenge from the gang and flees to Jeju Island where he meets a terminally ill woman, Jae0yeon. But can he escape his past?

This film sets a realistic portrayal of how poisonous and destructive an organized crime machine can be.

The Tale of the Princess Kaguya *****

The Tale of the Princess Kaguya is a 2013 Japanese animated film produced by Studio Ghibli. The movie is beautifully wrapped in subtle metaphors that is open to multiple interpretations like many other Ghibli productions.
