One of the best forms of amusement is watching movies. For fans of movies! Once again, WhatsOn editors are here to make your weekend worthwhile with Film Friday, bringing you an interesting collection of the most recent movies. 1. Collide

Collide is an action thriller. Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Felicity Jones, Marwan Kenzari, Nicholas Hoult, and Ben Kingsley all appear in the movie. The story revolves around two American teenagers living in Germany who need to steal drugs from a gangster to pay for surgery and we follow them as their paths cross throughout an evening at a restaurant in Los Angeles.

Open Road Films distributed Collide in the US; it made $7 million against a $21.5 million budget, breaking the previous record for a second-weekend decrease in box office performance.

2. Where the Crawdads Sing

American novelist Delia Owens’ Where the Crawdads Sing is a 2018 coming-of-age murder mystery. Two timelines that slowly converge are followed in the story. The first timeline details a little girl named Kya’s life and experiences as she grows up alone amid North Carolina’s marshes.

The second timeline centers on the inquiry of Chase Andrews’ alleged murder, a local celebrity of Barkley Cove, a made-up seaside community in North Carolina. In July 2022, a movie adaptation was released.

3. Sharp Stick

Lena Dunham is an American comedian who also wrote, directed, and produced 2022 the film Sharp Stick. Jon Bernthal, Luka Sabbat, Scott Speedman, Kristine Froseth, Dunham, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, are among its cast members. The story starts with a naive 26-year-old named Sarah Jo living on the outskirts of Hollywood with her mother and sister. She is forced into sexuality, loss, and power education when she has an affair with her older employer.

On January 22, 2022, the movie had its Sundance Film Festival premiere. On July 29, 2022, Utopia distributed the movie in theaters around the country. Critics gave it a variety of reviews. The VOD launch took place on August 16, 2022.

4. Dobaaraa

Anurag Kashyap is the director of the 2022 mystery drama film Dobaaraa, commonly known as 2:12. Pavail Gulati and Taapsee Pannu both appear in the movie. The 2018 Spanish film Mirage was officially remade in this motion picture. A woman is given the chance to save the life of a 12-year-old child who witnessed a death during a rainstorm that occurred 25 years ago by connecting through the television during a similar storm in the present, according to the opening scene of the movie.

It had its debut at the London Indian Film Festival in 2022, and on August 19 of that same year, it will hit theaters.

5. Laal Singh Chaddha

The comedy-drama Laal Singh Chaddha, was written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni and directed by Advait Chandan.The film begins with the story of a boy who is bullied because of his leg braces and seen as something of a dimwit, Laal has had many difficulties in finding his place in the world. From the early stages of the story, one person becomes a constant figure in his life.

It is a remake of the 1994 American movie Forrest Gump, which was itself based on the book of the same name. It was theatrically released globally on August 11, 2022, and it was produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios.
