Famous Singer Andrew Kishore Dies at 64

Legendary playback singer Andrew Kishore passed away on Monday, 6th July, at the age of 64. Puza Snigdha reports.

It has been confirmed by State Minister of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid that the singer was at his sister’s home in Rajshahi when he passed away on Monday evening.

“Kishore is not speaking anymore. He just lies there with his eyes shut. I ask him what is going on his mind. He says that he is praying to God to take him away without making him suffer any longer,” the singer’s wife wrote on social media.

The eight-time National Film Award winner who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and was battling with cancer for long time was being treated at Singapore General Hospital. The musician was given a total of 24 chemotherapy in six steps.

He returned to the country on June 11 after taking 9 months treatment in Singapore and admitted to his sister’s clinic in Rajshahi.

The whole country is mourning including President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who have expressed their grief.
