Emma Roberts Returns as Madison in 'American Horror Story' Season 8

Emma Roberts is returning to the American Horror Story franchise. The 27-year-old actress teased that her character Madison Montgomery from the “Coven” season would be returning, by sharing a video of her saying perhaps the most famous line from that season: “Surprise bitch. Bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”
Last week, Ryan Murphy announced that the next installment of American Horror Story would be a crossover of season 1 “Murder House” and season 3 “Coven.” Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Kathy Bates are all set to return and now it seems that Emma Roberts too.
As “Coven” fans will remember, Roberts played the self-centered, teen witch/Hollywood starlet during American Horror Story Season 3. Madison was one of the students at New Orleans Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies and thought to be the successor to Supreme witch Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange). But Roberts’ character was offed twice during the season — ending it dead as a doornail, leaving the throne open for Fiona’s daughter, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson).
Murphy took to Twitter Thursday to reveal the crossover installment will arrive on Fox this September. He had previously teased that Season 8 would take place in the “near-distant future.” The most recent season, “Cult,” explored the American political divide in the wake of Donald Trump’s election.
While live-tweeting the latest episode of his new Fox show Pose Murphy, with some help from Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts, announced a charity contest to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The winner will find out both the title and plot of American Horror Story season 8 before everyone else does (to enter, fans can make a donation to the hospital on the contest’s Omaze page.)
When the contest ends, one donor and a friend will be flown out to L.A. to kick it with Paulson and Peters, read the upcoming season’s first three scripts (including the title and plot), and take home a signed copy of the script for season 7, episode 1.
