Eddie Vedder & Johnny Marr is Covering The Smiths

Eddie Vedder and Johnny Marr performed a cover of Smith, at Ohana Festival on September 29 and The crowd went absolutely Bananas.
The festival took place at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California. People also saw performances from the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Plague Vendor. Eddie Vedder Perform With Liz Phair and Johnny Marr and they covers The Smiths.Vedder treated audiences to a number of surprises.
Pearl Jam frontman also covers Springsteen, Tom Petty, Cat Power, Bob Dylan. Vedder brought out fellow Chicagoan Liz Phair for an acoustic rendition of Pearl Jam’s “Better Man.”
Vedder delivered a jukebox throughout his two sets, specifically: Bruce Springsteen (“Open All Night”), The Beatles (“You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away”, “Here Comes the Sun”), Tom Petty (“I Won’t Back Down”, “Room at the Top”, “Wildflowers”), Warren Zevon (“Keep Me in Your Heart”), George Harrison (“Isn’t It a Pity”), The Clash (“Should I Stay Or Should I Go”), Cat Power (“Good Woman”), Bob Dylan (“Forever Young”), and Neil Young (“Keep On Rockin’ in the Free World”).
Vedder joined Marr on stage to play The Smith “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.”
Vedder commanded the song, offering a huskier approach than Morrissey’s softer tone on The Queen Is Dead. Vedder closed out the performance with some atmospheric vocalizing.
Marr said, welcoming Vedder onstage , “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank a good friend of mine, someone who I’ve admired and who’s been to me and who’s an inspiration,”, welcoming Vedder onstage to channel Morrissey’s melancholy vocal on the 1986 track.
