Disgraced John Lasseter to Remain at Disney until End of 2018

The disgraced John Lasseter will remain employed by the Walt Disney Company until the end of 2018.
Last year, Lasseter taken leave of absence following allegations of sexual misconduct. Actions he described merely as “missteps”, but the allegations described by his female co-workers tell a different story.
Until last year, Lasseter was arguably the most powerful man in animation; named Chief Creative Officer of both Pixar and Walt Disney Feature Animation.
The recent “Disney Revival” of successful animated films has been attributed to Lasseter’s position in the company.
Come the beginning of 2019. Lasseter will officially depart The Walt Disney Company. It has not yet been announced who will take over Lasseter’s role, but according to the New York Times, a person who has been briefed on the matter has said that Jennifer Lee (Frozen co-director) and Pete Docter (Up and Inside Out director) will both be promoted and given new responsibilities at Walt Disney Animation and Pixar respectively.
In a statement, Lasseter has replied saying: “I have decided the end of this year is the right time to begin focusing on new creative challenges.”
Whether this means creating a new studio or not, we are not yet sure.
