Last night popular songstress Demi Lovato was hospitalised following an alleged drug overdose, reports have told.
Today it was heard that the star is awake and with her family after being rushed to hospital on Tuesday as a result of an apparent heroin overdose.
A statement from Demi’s representative revealed: “Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
The news comes after the recent release of Demi’s new track, ‘Sober’, in which she confesses to her battle with addiction. It has been only a few weeks since the singer announced she had suffered a relapse, after previously encountering struggles with substance abuse.
The public are shocked and saddened by this turn of events and hope Demi all the best – we wish her a safe and speedy recovery.
