Dear White People: Season 2 Premiere Announced by Netflix

Netflix has set Friday 4 May for the Season 2 premiere of Dear White People, its comedy series based on the 2014 feature that won a Special Jury Award at Sundance.
From creator and executive producer Justin Simien, Dear White People premiered globally on Netflix April 28, 2017. Yvette Lee Bowser will also return as showrunner, with Stephanie Allain and Julia Lebedev again executive-producing. The series stars Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson.
Season two will pick up where season one left off, with the characters dealing with the aftermath of a failed protest. But while the first season centered around a racist party at the school that involved students dressing up in blackface for Halloween, the issues set to come up in the next installment are still under wraps, even to the characters themselves it seems. Sam, played by Logan Browning, seems to be back on the radio, and is the target of an online troll.
Emmy-winner Lena Waithe will recur in season two as P Ninny, an MC who stars on a ridiculous Love & Hip Hop-like reality series called Trap-House Tricks. Waithe was a producer on the 2014 film that set up the premise for the Netflix adaptation.
The series won an Audience Award as SXSW past year and has been nominated for Gotham and Image Awards.
The alt-right, cultural appropriation, sex and gender norms, Jesus, marijuana, The Sunken Place, black lesbians, conspiracy theories and black Scientology are some of the topics we can look forward to in this second season.
