After the romance of less than one year, The “American Idol” alumna Katharine McPhee and music producer David Foster are set to tie the knot, media break the news on Tuesday.
Posting a ring emoji along with a GIF of Ariana Grande which says, “And what about it?”, the 68-year-old music producer then confirmed the news herself on Twitter. She then shared a screenshot of a text conversation on Instagram, giving more details about the proposal.
The couple was spotted for the first time since revealing their engagement in New York City on Thursday, as they headed to a jeweler in Tribeca.
Katharine and David were on the Italian island of Capri Sunday as she showed off her engagement ring to family and friends over FaceTime.
In May 2014, McPhee filed for divorce from Cokas after six years of marriage. After that, from 2017, he was dating The 34-year-old “American Idol” alum.
Despite many instances of public affection, the two have shied away from dating rumors and consistently denied being more than friends after they were first linked together in September 2017.
“Here’s how I look at it: I’m not doing anything wrong, so whether people think it’s true or false, I don’t, you know, there’s nothing bad happening in my life, so people can just say whatever they want,” said Katharine.
“It’s great that they want to do that. I think it’s so amusing that people are amused by my love life,” McPhee told People in November.
