COVID-19 Update: India Faces the deadly second wave

  • Over 1.4 million long-term employees and care residents have contracted Covid-19 in the US. Kaiser Family Foundation reported 181,000 deaths as a result of this.

  • After a year of closed borders, New Zealand has opened its gates to travelers from Australia. The Wellington airport was filled with emotional reunions.
  • Bangladesh has witnessed a sharp rise in new Covid-19 cases in the last month. Authorities are planning to imply strict lockdown to carry out till the Eid Holiday.
  • India reported a record rise in coronavirus infections of 273,810 on Monday, taking its overall caseload past 15 million. British PM Boris Johnson has canceled his planned trip to India over Covid concerns.
