Chance The Rapper has responded to rumors saying he’s releasing a new album later this week, confirmed said in a new interview with the Chicago Tribune but didn’t reveal how he wants to release it.
Speculation began after an interview was published in the Chicago Tribune, where the rapper claimed that he’ll release the record to coincide with a performance at the Special Olympics.
“He’s finishing up the follow-up album to his Grammy-winning 2016 release Coloring Book, which he says will be out in a few days,” reporter Greg Kot wrote in the article, which was published on Monday.
“I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it”,the rapper was quoted as saying. “I’m excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics”.
“I’ve never been against selling music,” Chance said. “Music has value. I put my music out there for free because I wanted people to see and notice it as a beacon for what I’m doing, in terms of how unorthodox I wanted my approach and my delivery of each piece of music to be.”
Fans have been sharing their excitement on social media ever since, but on Tuesday, Chance admitted they would have to wait a little longer for the project. “Sorry no album this week,” he tweeted, before adding, “def been in the stu (studio) tho (sic)”.
The Rapper previously revealed he was teaming up with fellow Chicago native Kanye West to produce a seven-track release which they began working on recently in Wyoming, where the Stronger rapper had set up a secluded studio.
