Australia’s largest city Sydney will put on its biggest-ever fireworks display to welcome the New Year and kick off a wave of celebrations for billions around the world though Sydney’s lord mayor, Clover Moore, has called ticketed New Year’s Eve events around the city’s harbour an “outrageous” money-making exercise by the state government.
In Hong Kong Glittering fireworks will be sent skyward from five barges floating in Victoria Harbour in a 10-minute display which will be enjoyed by 300,000 people on the foreshore.
In many countries such as Paris, Berlin, London, Edinburgh they will celebrate the New year’s Eve with concert, music and fireworks.
