W Communications Cupboard Love Cafe London January 11 2018.

January is tough for most people after overspending on food and gifts in the months running up to Christmas. ‘Cupboard Love Café’ is offering a unique opportunity for Brits who might be struggling to learn how they can save money and make do with the staples in their cupboards at home.
The café will be opening for one day only on the 24 Jan and will be offering free dishes to showcase the variety of meals people can make with what they already have in their cupboards at home rather than spending money they might need for something else on more food.
The dishes on the menu will be made with ingredients including family favourites such as Hellmann’s, Marmite and Knorr. The cost to prepare each of the meals on offer will be less than £1 a portion.
January is seen by many as the harshest financial month of the year and this is a great opportunity to learn new ways of tightening your belts until pay day at the end of the month.
A survey conducted by Ginger Communications shows that by the end of January, the average Brit is left with only £28,26 in the bank. The Christmas overspending is then replaced with scraping for change.
The results of the study also showed that Brits are not very wise when it comes to managing and using their money. Eighty per cent of people tend to spend money on ingredients that they have forgotten they already have.
It is estimated that the average person has £108,63 worth of food in their cupboards. Some of the ingredients you might find at home that you could use in order to save money are rice, eggs, baked beans, honey, spreads and herbs. And these are just some examples. You are likely have up to 76 different ingredients at home that you could be using.
‘Cupboard Love Café’  will be opening from 12-15pm on Wed 24 Jan at Jar Kitchen , 176 Drury Ln, London WC2B 5QF. Meals will be served on a first come first served basis. Once the dishes are all gone that’s it.
