Broadway Young Star Laurel Griggs dies at 13

The 13-year-old l Broadway little star and SNL actress Laurel Griggs has died from complications related to an asthma attack on Nov. 5 in New York City.
Her funeral service was held three days later she died where more than 1000 attended and hundreds more paid their respects online.
Laurel was fighting with asthma for about two years, said her father Andrew Griggs.
Last Tuesday, suddenly she had an asthma attack while she was in Manhattan with her parents. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital within two hours but doctors were unable to revive her.
Griggs made her Broadway debut at age 6 as Polly in “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” performing alongside Scarlett Johansson. Since then, she has participated in more than 1,000 Broadway shows.
After leaving “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” Griggs went on to join the cast of Tony award-winning musical “Once” in 2013, performing as an alternate for the role of Ivanka.
After finishing the “Once”, the little star transitioned her career toward TV and film in 2015.
Including voiceovers in the animated children’s TV series “Bubble Guppies,” the actress featured in several commercials and television shows.
“The world lost a real princess who only wanted to make the future happy for all,” Rivlin said on Sunday in a Facebook post. “Acting was just a childhood dream come true and she had big plans for the future.”
Griggs’ family members did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
