Broadway refers to the theatrical performances presented in the 41 professional theatres located in the Theater District and Lincoln Center along the street of Broadway in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Being one of New York City’s most famous neighborhoods, Broadway and the Theater District promise night after night of excitement.
Shubert Alley is a famous pedestrian-only alley in the Theater District and home to two well-known playhouses which are the Shubert on 221 West 44th Street and the Booth at 22 West 45th Street. Historically, aspiring actors would frequent Shubert Alley looking for opportunities to perform in a play sponsored by theater baron, Sam S. Shubert. A Chorus Line played at The Shubert for a record 6,137 shows.
Where Broadway separates itself from the silver screen is in its tight-knit community, one in which stars are born and established actors return to prove themselves on the stage. It’s all part of the glitz and glamor that makes New York the greatest city in the world.
