Brie Larson to Star in “Lessons In Chemistry”

Brie Larson is going to appear in a new television series titled “Lessons In Chemistry” which will showcase on Apple+ with a straight-to-series order. Puza Snigdha reports.

The series will be executive produced by Brie Larson and Susannah Grant will be the writer. Susannah Grant has received an Academy Award nomination for her screenplay for ‘Erin Brockovich’.

The series plot is based on 1960s. Lessons In Chemistry will tell the story of Elizabeth Zott, whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a society deeming that women belong in the domestic sphere, not the professional one. Elizabeth loses her job when she becomes pregnant. She decides to be a single mother and faces ingenuity. The she gets a job and becomes a host of a TV cooking show.

Larson will play the leading role of Elizabeth Zott.

The story will follow the upcoming, debut novel by author and science editor Bonnie Garmus.

Larson is Marvel’s first female lead superhero with Captain Marvel. She also appeared in Avengers: Endgame and next headlines Captain Marvel II. Larson also starred in the 2019 movie Just Mercy.

The Apple deal for “Lessons in Chemistry” was handled by Luke Speed and Felicity Blunt at Curtis Brown.

The series is set to arrive on screens in spring 2022.
