Brand New Outdoor Concerts to Rock Birmingham this Summer

An exciting new series of outdoor concerts is coming to the Midlands, and is bringing with it a host of great musical talents for both locals and travellers to enjoy.
Digbeth Arena will host this run of events, which is called Skyline Series, and in its takeover this summer will bring to its platform a unique musical experience every time.
Because it embraces a wide variety of genres, there is bound to be something for everyone at this brand new festival of fun. Skyline will take place across various weekends over August and September and its line-up is all-encompassing.
The artists attending Skyline Series, and the dates in which they are performing, are as follows:
24 Aug – Brian Wilson performing Pet Sounds, Turin Brakes
25 Aug – James Arthur, JP Cooper, Nina Nesbitt
1 Sept – Texas & Imelda May, Ward Thomas
7 Sept – The The, Field Music
8 Sept – Garbage, Maxïmo Park, Honeyblood
The opening event will see Brian Wilson, founding member of The Beach Boys, perform some of their most iconic tracks. The support acts for each date have been mindfully chosen and are sure to put on a spectacular show for those in attendance.
Mark Dennis of The MJR Group is one of the organisers striving to make the event a success. He commented: “Being born and bred in the city, I noticed that there was a lack of live music concerts in dedicated open-air event spaces like there are in other cities.
“Skyline follows the shift away from seeing big-named acts in a muddy field at a festival that’s miles away. You can now see your favourite artists, basking in the summer’s glorious sunshine (hopefully!), without the need for an expensive weekend festival ticket or travelling miles away from the city to a festival site. Digbeth Arena is just a short jaunt from New Street Station.”
What makes Digbeth Arena an ideal venue is its convenient central location and its spacious site. Interestingly, the Skyline Series is one of the first events to be held in this unique open air space, which adds to its appeal and exclusivity.
As well as the great music, every evening will offer guests a wide range of culinary delights – available will be many tasty treats for you to enjoy courtesy of a fantastic food village set up by several local suppliers.
Mark adds: “We are honoured and humbled to become part of the innovative and artistic hub that is Digbeth, Birmingham,” Mark concluded. “We have already started developing great relationships with the business and creative community here and look forward to what the future will bring.”
Skyline tickets start from £27.50. For more information, or to secure your space, visit skyline-series.com.
