Boris Johnson advises people to work from home

The Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson has advised people who can work from home to do so as the COVID-19 cases keep on increasing rapidly across the country.

The Tory government has rushed workers back to work a few weeks back without taking all the necessary precautions and safety measures. Now the government has taken a massive U-turn on the previous decision and asked people to work from home if they can.

The PM finally addressed new measures at the conference to tackle the Pandemic. He has announced that the restaurants and Pubs in England will be closed by 10 pm and made it compulsory for staff and customers to eat masks except when they are eating and drinking. The same measures, taken a couple of months back could have prevented many unnecessary deaths.

According to the latest figures, Covid-19 cases have increased from 1000 infections per day to almost 4000 new infections a day in the span of a month. These alarming rises have been a grave concern for the nation, pushing the government to remake measures and impose strict regulations to tackle this situation.

The First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has announced a strict national curfew on pubs and restaurants which will be effective from the coming Friday. She has also banned household visits across the country. The First Minister of Wales, Mark Drake ford has also restricted traveling unless it is an emergency.

The plan to return 80 percent of the civil servants by the Tory government has been scrapped. This has come after experts advised on a second COVID wave to arrive in winter. However, if the government cannot financially support their new proposed measures, communities will be in despair. With the furloughs scheme ending this month, the Trade Union Council is worried about the impact it will have on the working class and jobs in the UK.

Lives have been unnecessarily lost due to the results of the delays and callous handling of testing, tracking, and tracing done by the government so far.
