Blush

Aritist, Maya Hawke

It can’t be easy having famous parents (in this case Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke) when trying to forge a career in the media spotlight. Maya Hawke it has to be said has done herself an awful lot of good with this beautifully rendered album. The stripped-back style of production allows you to really feel the quite subtle emotion in Hawke’s sweet vocal. The music is an endearing blend of folk, pop and country with a nod towards Norah Jones. Blush is a formidable debut album that should see Hawke throw off any remaining shackles caused by her lineage.
