BLUE STATUE releases a new music track!

Hailing from North London alt-indie/post-punk rockers, Blue Statue, consisting of brothers Hayden and Aaron Brown along with Joao Cardoso and Ben Jasper. Adam Humphries report.

Having recently had some exposure on 6Music Recommends with Steve Lamacq and with collaborations under their belt with likes of big producers such as Joe Foster resulted in this little beauty of a track, V.F, and for a song that is just ten seconds short of four minutes it is actually quite good.

Aaron and Hayden are a good match as front-men, also they happen to be brothers which in some ways actually does work when in bands, Oasis, Haim, and Kings of Leon are examples of this when it comes to siblings in a band. Also, they do gel together really well in the vocal sense whenever they sing together though you do hear one more than the other, non the less it actually does work really as it also balances them out as well.

The track has that Britishness to it when you hear it and there are a few lines in the song which only appear twice yet has that mental-type edge to it “Which ones are best to let go, and which one’s denial?” and “medicate or meditate”. Yet non the less is a great track and definitely one for the playlist this year.

Musically these guys take influence from garage-rock, post-punk and rock noise persuasion.
