Blair Jollands – 7 Blood

Not many artists are bold enough to encompass such a wide range of music and still make it sound like it belongs.  Blair Jollands should come with the middle name of diversity, a trait which gives this album a stay fresh feel from start to finish.  It’s a smooth, sophisticated affair too with each song having a vaguely retro vibe. Flawless production is something where most fall short but here it’s so good it almost detracts from how you imagine Jollands may sound live.  7 Blood isn’t likely to challenge for chart success but it’ll be getting played long after more disposable fayre has been long forgotten.
