Biden wins in George after Vote recounts

Joe Biden has won 16 electoral college votes in George, making him the first Democratic winner in this state since Bill Clinton in 1996. Anika Khan reports.

After the state conducted a hand recount, Joe Biden has been confirmed a winner. He won a victory by 306-232. The recounts that have taken place in four counties discovered a total of about 5800 votes out of which Donald Trump won 1400 votes.

The secretary of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger has officially said that the difference of 5800 votes was due to human error and there has been no evidence of rigging or voter fraud. He said, that the audit has reaffirmed the state’s new secure paper ballot voting system has accurately counted the result.

He added, “This is a credit to the hard work of our county and local elections officials who moved quickly to undertake and complete such a momentous task in a short period of time.”

Biden campaign Spokesperson has said, that the recount has only reaffirmed the results that we already know. Georgia has already selected Joe Biden to be their next president.

On the other hand, Donald Trump has refused to concede, questioning the results and accusing unfound voter frauds. He took to twitter to state:

However, Trump’s accusations did not lead the state to hand count the votes. It was under the new state law that steamed the audit. With the very tight margin between the candidates, an official full hand recount was necessary.

The news came in as Joe Biden approached a record of over 80 million votes with ballots in California and New York still being counted as we speak.
