Barnado’s, the most recognised children’s charity in the UK, has just announced the names of its first family celebrity ambassadors.
The chosen couple is in fact England ace Jamie Vardy and TV star wife Rebekah Vardy (popularly known for her appearance on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here) , who have five children between them.
The role of the celebrities, as the charity’s ambassadors, will be to front campaigns and be the face of events arranged specifically to highlight the works of Barnado’s, who make it their core responsibility to support thousands of vulnerable children throughout the UK each year.
When discussing her involvement Rebekah commented: “Jamie and I are really excited to support Barnardo’s. The work it does to help children across the UK is really important to us and we’re looking forward to getting stuck in and helping the charity in any way that we can.”
One of Rebekah’s first tasks as an ambassador will be to assist in the promotion of Barnardo’s Retail Spring Clean campaign. This will include encouraging individuals to donate pre-loved clothes to the charity’s stores as well as making a public appearance at the Barnado’s fundraising Big Toddle launch on 12 June 12 at Dudley Zoo.
