Bappi Lahiri: Remembering the King of Bollywood Music

Alokesh Lahiri, popularly known as Bappi Lahiri, was an Indian singer, and composer. Bappi Lahiri not just gave Bollywood some of its best disco beats but also sang some hugely famous chartbusters in his individual and harmonious voice.

He is mainly known for his up-tempo, dance grooving tunes. Bappi broke through during the 80s, showcasing synthesized disco in Indian movies. Excluding music, he is the ‘King of Bling.’ Specifically, he was always seen wearing a lot of jewelry. Owning over 754 grams of gold chains and bracelets, Bappi gets fantasy from The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

Dil Mein Ho Tum

This song is from the movie “Satyamev Jayate”. ‘Dil Mein Ho Tum’ is a different song from Bappi Lahiri. This is especially mild in tune with a slow rhythm. It is not the commonly fast pace song that Bappi is famous for.

Yaad Aa Raha Hai

‘Yaad Aa Raha Hai’ is another Bollywood top pick from the movie Disco Dancer (1982). It is mainly a high-tempo, minimalist electronic disco song. Starting slow, the fast beat kicks will have audio lovers’ feet drumming to the disco elements. In the movie the song features Mithun Chakraborty, rocking and grooving along with his guitar.

Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re

‘Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re’ is a retro song, which contains a marvelous melodious beat to it. This tuneful piece was sung in a duet form by Bappi Lahiri and British-Indian singer-composer Sistla Janaki.

Chirodini Tumi Je Amar

The song is a remake of the Indian movie “Satyamev Jayate”, with the track being ’‘Dil Mein Ho Tum’. this song is from an Indian-Bengali film Amar Sangi. The other song of this film was also composed by Bappi.

Tamma Tamma Loge

‘Tamma Tamma Loge’ is a positively high-tempo track. Listeners will want to break a move on the dance floor and even in the shower. Giving its very own modern spin, The song also had a remake in the very recent picture Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
