Bangladesh thrash Oman in first warm up

Before the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, Bangladesh defeated the Oman XI by 60 runs in their first warm-up game. The match took place at Muscat’s Al Amerat Cricket Ground, which will host the World Twenty20 tournament in September.

Mohammad Naim and Liton Das both scored 63 off 53 balls and 53 off 33 balls, but Nurul Hasan stole the show in the slog overs, scoring 49 off 15 balls not out to take Bangladesh XI to 207-4.

Samay Shrivastava and Aamir Kaleem took two wickets each for the Oman XI, making 147-9 from their 20 overs.

Shoriful Islam took 3-30, and Mohammad Saifuddin claimed 2-17 for the Bangladesh XI. Opener Soumya Sarkar (eight), Mushfiqur Rahim (0), and Afif Hossain (six) were dismissed cheaply.

Shoaib Ahmed was run-out in the 14th over after a miscommunication with non-striker Khurram Nawaz.
Naim also left the field soon after completing his fifty to give his teammates some batting practice. None of Oman XI’s top-five batsmen could get into double figures against Bangladesh XI.

Rafiullah then provided entertainment for the home audience with a lat blitz that included one four and four sixes, but it was too late.

Bangladesh will go to the United Arab Emirates today for two warm-up games against Sri Lanka and Ireland.

They will next return to Oman to face Scotland in their first T20 World Cup match on October 17 at the same venue.
