Baftas 2021: Big Wins for ‘Nomadland’ and ‘Promising Young Woman’

The BAFTAs 2021 were held virtually yesterday on 11 April, and ‘Promising Young Woman’ and ‘Nomadland’ were among the major winners were.

The award ceremony was divided into two parts. The “opening night” took place on April 10 where the awards for Costume Design, Casting, British Short Film, and more were given to the winners.

Noel Clarke, actor, writer, and producer, received the Outstanding Contribution To Cinema award. The star dedicated the award to “the underrepresented” in his speech.

During yesterday’s ceremony, ‘Promising Young Woman’ won the awards for Outstanding British Film and Original Screenplay. ‘Nomadland’, meanwhile, won 4 awards. The film bagged the awards for Best Film, Cinematography, Leading Actress for Frances McDormand and Best Director for Chloe Zhao.
