Badshah Faces Charge of Buying Fake YouTube Views

The famous rapper Badshah has been accused by the Mumbai Police of buying fake views on YouTube for Rs 72 lakh. Puza Snigdha reports.

Badshah released a song “Pagal Hai” on July 10, 2019 which break the record of most views in 24 hours. The song earned around 7.2 crore views just in 24 hours.


The Crime Intelligence Unit branch of the Mumbai police has investigated and claimed that the rapper has bought those views with Rs 72 lakh.


According to Nandkumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police, “Badshah has confessed that he has spent ₹72 lakh to set the world record for the most views in 24 hours.”

According to PTI, the rapper denies the claim. The police has taken around 20 people’s statements regarding this case.

Badshah said that he has talked to the Mumbai Police and he has categorically denied all the allegations. “I made it clear that I was never involved in such practices, nor do I condone them.”
Badshah has been asked to meet the police again on Sunday.

The probe began following when a fake profile named Bhumi Trivedi first complained against Badshah and the led to the racket circle in which celebrities and influencers can buy likes and followers on social media to increase their visibility.

The singer’s being questioned has sent Twitter into meme.
