Arctic Monkeys fans have recently launched a petition for the band so that they can play a huge gig at the legendary Knebworth Park.
Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Matt Helders and Nick O’Malley will be heading out across the nation on an arena tour later this year.
The band who are currently in the midst of a UK arena tour to promote their acclaimed 2018 album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino‘, currently have no dates scheduled for 2019 but are rumoured to headline either Glastonbury or Reading & Leeds festival.
“It’s easier to get a reservation at Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino than Arctic Monkeys tickets right now and that doesn’t even exist”, one user wrote.
The band’s fan campaign for the Sheffield indie veterans to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Oasis and The Rolling Stones by playing a historic gig at the 125,000 capacity Knebworth Park.
“Arctic Monkeys have established themselves as a truly iconic British band,” the petition reads. “Having released their ambitious sixth album earlier this year, followed by an astounding run of recent live performances, it’s time for Arctic Monkeys to join the list of legendary artists to perform at Knebworth Park”.
“A concert at the legendary outdoor venue would be a worthy celebration of the greatest British band of this century”, the petition continues.
“The event would also allow the band to select a range of excellent artists to perform alongside them, creating an unmissable music festival. Six consecutive number one UK albums proves the mass popularity of Arctic Monkeys”, reads the petition.
