American rock band, OK GO, have recorded their new single, All Together Now, which they made during the peak of the current COVID 19 crisis and frontman, Damian Kulash illness. Adam Humphreys reports.
Both Kulash and his wife both contracted the Coronavirus but both made a full recovery and together with his band produced this new song for charity. And like with other charitable songs, its message is important especially for the times we’re currently in.
The band recorded the new single whilst they were in isolation meaning that everything had to be done remotely. Damian Kulash decided to write the song as a means of both saying thank you and raising money for the Front-Line/Key workers e.g. carers, nurses, doctors etc.
Kulash cites the previous weekly Clap For Our Carers as the inspiration behind their new single and so the band got together, remotely and via video call, wrote, recorded and produced All Together Now.
The accompanying video to this feature all the band members performing at home in isolation and is definitely worth watching. OK GO’s new single is about finding solidarity with each other when we cannot be there for each other physically.
I work as a Key Worker, working as Support Worker, supporting those with mental and physical problems as well as learning and physical disabilities including underlying health problems, so this feels both important and special to me as it will do for other key workers.
