In memory of the language martyrs and to make Bengali cinema popular among film lovers, ‘Amar Bahasa Film 1428’ kicked off in TSC premises of Dhaka University. The five-day event will run until February 26.
The Dhaka University Film Parliament has been organizing ‘Amar Bahasa Film’ festival since 2002 in the memory of the language martyrs and with the aim of promoting Bengali cinema to the present generation of people.
Today, on Saturday ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’ directed by Abdul Mohammad Saad was screened at 12 pm, ‘Mujib Amar Pita’ Directed by Sohel Mohammad Rana was screened at 3:30 pm, ‘Lal Morog er Jhuti’ directed by Nurul Alam Atik Was Screened at 6:30 pm and Ananya Mamun directed at 6:30 pm.
The greeting price of the movie exhibition ticket has been fixed at 50 Taka. Yesterday, the screening of the film ‘Agantuk’ directed by Satyajit Ray was held. Also on display were ‘Monpura’, ‘Unpanchash Batas’ and ‘Rehana Maryam Noor’.
During the five-day festival, 19 full-length and one documentary was screened. On the last day of the festival on 26th February, the awarding and closing ceremony of ‘Hiralal Sen Padak’ was been held in the memory of Hiralal Sen, the first filmmaker of the subcontinent.
