‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ Tops US chart

The American singer Mariah Carey’s song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ which was released 25 years ago, finally hit the top of the US charts.

The singer shared her happiness by throwing a post on Twitter, “We did it” with a string of emojis to convey happy tears.
“It’s something my die-hard fans think about, and people that are really close to me are talking to me about it literally all year. But I don’t need something else to validate the existence of this song. I used to pick it apart whenever I listened to it, but at this point, I feel like I’m finally able to enjoy it. I just truly love the holidays – I know it’s corny, and I don’t care.”
‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has become the most popular tune at this time of year on both sides of the Atlantic, and also currently the UK’s most-streamed song on Spotify.
The Christmas classic regularly appears in the upper echelons of ‘best festive songs’ countdowns.
