The numbers alone are impressive: 31 days, 900 events, over 4,000 artists, and more than 1.5 million visitors. It’s something have to see to believe. Just about every park, street, performance venue and abandoned building becomes a stage for some sort of act, whether it’s comedy, theatre, dance, cabaret, film, performance art or a musical concert. This year from 16 Feb to 18 March there are pop-up performances in hotels, cafes, pubs and art galleries, parades through the city centre, a street theatre festival and family-friendly activities, many of which are totally free.
