Activists Demand Justice For Breonna Taylor

The Black Lives Matter movement shows no signs of slowing down, as this weekend hundreds of BLM activists took the streets of Louisville, Kentucky, to demand justice for Breonna Taylor. Tara Pilkington reports.

Breonna Taylor has become one of the most prominent names during the recent Black Lives Matter protests which are taking place throughout the US.

Taylor, an emergency medical technician, was killed during a “no-knock” drugs police raid in March. However, it has since been revealed that the warrant was in connection with a suspect who did not live in the apartment and that no drugs were found in the raid.

During the BLM demonstration this weekend, police in riot gear set up barricades and closed streets as a separate, smaller white militia groups descended on the town as a counter-protest.

The protesters, known as the ‘Not F***ing Around Coalition’ (NFAC), were dressed in paramilitary fatigues and armed with shotguns and semi-automatic rifles.

NFAC spokesman John “Grandmaster Jay” Johnson called for authorities to speed up the investigation into Ms Taylor’s death and for more transparency into her case. He said: “If you don’t tell us nothing we going to think you ain’t doing nothing,”.
