A$AP Rocky Donates 120 Meals For Thanksgiving

A$AP Rocky has donated 120 meals at a homeless shelter in New York City, remembering his root. Puza Snigdha reports.

The rapper fed 120 people of a homeless shelter on Wednesday where once he used to live with his mother. He lived there around 20 years ago and now he is successful, living a happy life but still reminds those days.

Rocky picked the food from Amy Ruth’s Restaurant in Harlem to the Regent Family Residence, a shelter that serves 83 families, including 111 children.

People asked to the Volunteers of America for a comment but they didn’t say anything yet.

Rakim Athelaston Mayers, known as A$AP Rocky started living in Harlem with his mom Renee Black, when he was 12.

Back in 2012, the rapper shared the experience about living there. In an interview, he shared how embarrassed he felt that time and how he finished his middle school.

“I was a little embarrassed as a kid but I rejoiced it and I embraced what that is because it made me who I am today,” he said.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was one of several stars to publicly mark Thanksgiving. Tyler Perry also feed 5,000 families with a combination of food boxes and gift cards.

A$AP Rocky’s last release came in his 2018 album ‘Testing’.
