5 Things to know about ‘Joy Bangla Concert 2020’

Sixth Edition of ‘Joy Bangla Concert 2020’ is all set to rock the Dhaka city on 7 March. To honor the epochal March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the concert is arranged every year. This year, Young Bangla and the youth front of the Awami League’s research wing Centre for Research and Information (CRI) is organizing the Show.

Here we will discuss 5 important things about the concert that an audience should know.

      • This year, Bangladesh Army Stadium is selected as the venue of the concert. The venue will open from 2 pm on 7 March 2020. Very tight security system was revealed by the organizer to stop any kind of hassle.
      • 16 musical bands, including five from different universities are confirmed so far for the largest band show. Along with their songs, the bands will also perform songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra as well as other popular songs.
      • Apart from the university bands, other popular bands like Vikings, Lalon, Minar, Cryptic Fate, Arbovirus, Chirkutt, Nemesis, F-Minor, Shunno, Fuad & Friends, and Avoid Rafa, are confirmed to perform. The concert will be broadcast on the country’s airwaves.
      • Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 100th birth anniversary is on March 17 and Bangladesh will be celebrating Mujib Borsho from March 17 to March 26, 2021. Marking the birth centenary of the father of the nation, the concert will be organized with much fanfare and enthusiasm. Graphical representations on Bangabandhu’s historic 7th March speech of 1971 which was later recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s documentary heritage will also be featured in the concert.
    • Free online registration for the Joy Bangla Concert began from 12 PM on Tuesday. Visitors can complete the registration process for the concert by providing their National Identity Card number, passport number, or birth certificate information, along with their contact number and email address and photo.
