Updates: 4 Most Trending TV Shows of 2023

Do you want to discover what new and trending TV shows this week have viewers hooked to the TV? WhatsOn presents a few trending TV shows.

Here are the top television shows right now, including School Spirits, Shrinking, Farzi, Swarm.

School Spirits

Ghosts trying to make contact with people in the living world are nothing new on TV. In fact, it’s been around since the medium’s early days. It’s one of those genres that depend on two things: The “rules” by which the dead interact with the living world and the story that these spirits are in. In a new Paramount+ series, Peyton List plays a newly-dead teen. Who just wants to know what the hell happened to her.

Created by Megan Trinrud and Nate Trinrud, School Spirits does a good job of setting up Maddie’s ghostly situation without hammering the “rules” of it over our heads. “You can touch, but you can’t change anything in their world,” Charley tells Maddie. In other words, no house parties and no sex scenes (yet); it’s just a fun, ghostly mystery to watch.

Shrinking

A grieving therapist starts to tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes to people’s lives – including his own. Featured by Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrence (both of “Ted Lasso”), and Jason Segel.

Lovely, tender, and often heartbreaking, this series features characters in realistic struggles, trying and sometimes succeeding in reaching each other to offer connections and comfort.

Jimmy is struggling, it’s true. He’s lost touch with his daughter and his colleagues and neighbors veer between dismay and disgust when they see what a mess he’s become. But then Jimmy discovers one of the great truths of life: Fulfillment and happiness can be found in helping others. He orders one patient to leave her emotionally abusive husband. He forcibly enrolls another in an amateur boxing club in hopes of giving him a healthy outlet for his post-military service anger and pain. It might be unethical according to the strictures of therapy (which a colleague warns him about, repeatedly and portentously), but it’s working. His patients are making changes in their lives, and Jimmy is, too.

Shrinking

Farzi

It stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna and Bhuvan Arora, and tells the story of a disillusioned artist who decides to make counterfeit money, gets pulled into the murky high stakes of a con job and a fiery task force officer on the mission to rid the country of his menaces in a fast-paced, edgy one-of-a-kind thriller.

Shahid kapoor as sunny is outstanding. He portrays a calm yet very ambitious character superbly. Also, shahid possesses a certain mumbai swag in him which he channelizes exceptionally. Vijay sethupathi plays michael and plays it effortlessly. He is nonchalant, careless, but extremely dedicated and workaholic. Vijay’s comic timing is very laidback yet effective. Bhuvan arora as firoz shines through the screens. His chemistry with shahid will remembered for years to come. Both have worked it out so beautifully. Kay kay menon, on the other hand, is a comic ruthless gangster. Whenever kay kay and shahid come together on screen, its fireworks. Ask vishal bharadwaj about haider if you doubt it.

Rashi khanna was good, a polite yet dedicated RBI officer. Amol palekar as nanu will surely bring a wide smile on your face as he has done over the long years. The performances are extremely competitive. Overall, a great first season which is bringing us into the world of Farzi. This is a solid crime thriller which is not only a must watch for Raj & DK fans, but also fans of crime/thriller genre.
