The South Korean singer, actress and K-Pop artist Goo Hara has been found dead at her home in Seoul, aged only 28.
According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, the artist’s body was found on Sunday early evening, but the reason for the death is still a mystery.
Hara is well-known as a former member of K-Pop girl band group Kara, where she worked from 2008 to 2015. The star also worked on several television shows, including her own reality TV series ‘On & Off,’ and an idol beauty show called ‘A Style For You.’
Recently she relaunched her solo career with a tour of Japan and the release of a new single.
Kara was the first K-Pop group to breakthrough on to the international stage.
Goo’s first solo EP reached number four in the Korean music charts, when it was released in 2015.
Last year, Hara was threatened by her boyfriend that he would expose private video footage which was taken without her knowledge or consent. Following this Hara filed a case against her boyfriend and took him to court.
Before her death, Goo Hara had taken to her Instagram to post a selfie of her lying on her bed with the caption, “Goodnight.”
