Wonderfruit Festival Announces A Pop-up Celebration

The annual arts, lifestyle festival Wonderfruit has announced a pop-up celebration titled “Moobaan Wonder” for the people of Thailand following the cancelation of their main event due to this pandemic. Puza Snigdha reports.

The festival will feature Thai music, culture, food, workshops, arts, architecture and more.

The seventh edition of the Wonderfruit festival was supposed to take place but the authorities announced back in September that the show won’t go ahead as Thailand is currently in a state of emergency to prevent COVID-19.

Following that the authorities are bringing Moobaan Wonder, a brand-new festival which will take place at Siam Country Club, Pattaya over five weekends from December 4-6, 2020 to Janurary 15-17, 2021.

The festival will take over 100 rai (approximately 39 acres) of lands at Siam Country Club.

Each week there will be distinct schedule and entertainment lineup. The action plan includes 200 musicians including DJs, bands, sound artists, more than 30 food vendors, around 40 workshops and over 80 fashion, art and cultural stores. over 80 fashion, art and cultural stores.

The lineup details says-

  • December 4-6: DOTT, Hugo, Sarayu, Sunju Hargun, Supersonic, Twopee Southside, and Yellow Fang
  • December 11-13: Burin, Lukthung Trio and Singto Numchok, Sabai Sabai Radio, The Jukks, Transport, and a special live-streamed appearance by New York’s Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy
  • December 25-27: Greasy Cafe, H 3 F, Isaac Aesili, Noxnoi, and a live stream by London’s Trojan Sound System

This new edition of the festival will follow the previous commitments of Wonderfruit to the sustainability. Any kind of plastic using are banned from the premises. The useful staffs like plates, cups will be made from biodegradable elements which will used as fertiliser for the onsite farm.

Tickets are B690 for day passes, B2,190 for single weekends, or B6,800 for the full season.
